We are sorry but we don't have school in this city, however you can visit the school of Salamanca near Leon.
The city of León is located in the northwest of Spain and has a population of about 137,000, which is more than a quarter of the province’s total population. It is the capital of the province of the same name. The city is easily accessible from Madrid and it offers lots of wonderful historic sites and constructs. The Gothic style Cathedral, for instance, is amazing. They started building it in the 13th century and it took over 200 years to complete it. It has over 250 stained glass windows, so on a sunny day you can see colors everywhere within the Cathedral. The church of San Isidoro, then, is beautiful from the outside and on the inside it houses many Romanesque paintings and early manuscripts. Another marvelous construct is the Convento de San Marcos, which was built in the 12th century. It has had many functions. It was the house of the Knights of Santiago, it has served as a hospital and as a prison, but nowadays it is a luxury hotel with a very impressive interior. The Palacio de Guzmanes is also an impressive construct which dates back to the 16th century. The Guzman family, one of the wealthiest León has known, once lived in this building. Additionally, one of Antoni Gaudí’s early works is to be found in León, namely the neo-gothic styled Casa de los Botines. It was built from 1892-1894. The city has been an academic city for quite some time now and the student ambiance is clearly present at certain hours, which is nice for the students who are thinking of taking their Spanish language course here. There are many bars to be found in León where one can try the local specialties in pinchos, or a glass of high quality wine. To the adventurous people or lovers of hiking and other related sports, we recommend Picos de Europa. Furthermore, Los Ancares is great for rafting and at San Isidro one can go skiing. Last but not least, there are some local specialties we want to recommend to you, like the “cocido maragato”, the “sopas de ajo leonesas” and “bacalao al ajo arriero,” enjoy!
