The City
La Herradurais a quiet and small village situated in a wonderful bay between two cliffy mountains, Punta de la Mona and Cerro Gordo. Some time ago it was a fishing hamlet, but today it has grown and developed, becoming a residential area very attractive for the Spanish tourisms without a sacrifice of its enchantment in exchange for the progress. The long beach offers numerous facilities of practicing aquatic sports, golf, tennis, horse riding and also other mountain sport whole year around. The richness at the bottom of the sea, has made of La Herradura a perfect place for diving. La Herradura has a great amount of “Chiringuitos” ( typical beach restaurants) where you can taste the gastronomic specialties of the zone.

Cons:
The Spanish in Cádiz differs from the Castilian Spanish. The Andalusian dialect of European Spanish is spoken in Andalusia, which might be harder to understund for a foreigner, or for a student of Spanish language. Of course you may consider it as a pro as well, because if you will understand the people in Cádiz, you will understand to everyone on the peninsula.
Because of the beautiful beaches you may miss a lot of classes!
How to get to La Herradura
The closest international airport to La Herradura is in Málaga. You will find all the information about the bus connection from Málaga to La Herradura here: http://www.alsinagraells.es. The journey takes about one hour and a half, and the price is a bit more than 5 euros. Please note, that the last bus from Málaga busstation leaves at 19.30! La Herradura is 80 km from Málaga, so to take a taxi would be an alternative option as well.
