The City

La Herradura is a quiet and small village situated in a wonderful bay between two cliffy mountains, Punta de la Mona and Cerro Gordo.  Some time ago it was a fishing hamlet, but today it has grown and developed, becoming a residential area very attractive for the Spanish tourisms without a sacrifice of its enchantment in exchange for the progress. The long beach offers numerous facilities of practicing aquatic sports, golf, tennis, horse riding and also other mountain sport whole year around. The richness at the bottom of the sea, has made of La Herradura a perfect place for diving. La Herradura has a great amount of “Chiringuitos” ( typical beach restaurants) where you can taste the gastronomic specialties of the zone.
The old part with the white houses and narrow streets decorated with flowers make La Herradura one of those typical Andalusia villages well known world wide.
La Herradura has an ample festive calendar throughout the year.  La Herradura has a subtropical climate and it has an average of 320 sunny days and 20 rainy days per year.
